Concrete Day 19 November

Concrete Day will take place in ‘de Doelen’ in Rotterdam on Thursday 19 November. Concrete Day is the annual highpoint for those involved in (concrete) construction in The Netherlands. The participants (and there were more than 3,300 last year), the exhibitors, the special programmes, the walk-in readings, a media corner etc, together provide the recipe for a relaxed, working atmosphere where ‘technology in (concrete) construction’ is central. The theme this year is: ‘Innovation in Concrete, Expert Knowledge Leads to Creativity’.

Groundwater in Urban Areas report

Within the framework of DC – Integrated Urban Water Management / Work Package 3 Groundwater Level, Deltares has recently drawn up a STOWA publication with the subject: ‘Groundwater in urban areas: practical examples of creating opportunities and dealing with bottlenecks’. This publication turns the spotlight on ten field cases involving urban groundwater management in The Netherlands (without claiming to be complete). The aim is to share the knowledge and expertise that has been built up, and to inspire those involved in urban groundwater management to deal more creatively with groundwater as a valuable part of the urban living environment. The publication has been drawn up by Deltares as part of Delft Cluster project ‘Integrated Urban Water Management’, work package 3 Groundwater Level. The project has been given financial support by STOWA, Delft Cluster, TU Delft, TNO, Deltares and the Department of Transport, Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat).
